Problem Statement
A urgent need of conservation of water is required, especially for the developing countries such as India. The overflow of overhead tank is needed to be stopped both domestically and in industries. Introducing volumetric tariff of water will definitely reduce the wastage and unnecessary usage of the water by the citizens.

Solution
A kit developed with a single sensor and a microcontroller will do both the automation of pump (Which obliviously prevents the overflow of water in overhead tank) and water metering, in a cost of nearly equally to 30-40% of the available kits (present in the market) , with utmost reliability and least maintenance. This kit is specifically designed to reduce the total cost, maintenance, implementation time and cost, detect leakage of water, malfunction of pump motor. A network is formed, in which the amount of water used is measured in a public place, where water tariff and metering will be done.

Beneficiary
The whole country gets benifited. Every citizen would be be benificiary as he/she could pay for water only they used instead of paying flat rate. The goverment gets benifited in two ways. First point is that the wastage and unneccssary of water will be eliminated, so the stress on goverment due to scarcity of water will be reduced. Second point is that the goverment can analysis the data collected and analysis can be done of water usage/person on various seasons, homes, areas on hourly, daily, weekly and yearly basis. These data can be used to forecast the water required for the city, state, country for the upcoming years.

Innovation
Introduction of new technique to automate the water pump and water metering by implementation of a single sensor. The cost of the total kit is 30-40% than present kit. The sensor ensures high reliability as it is not in physical contact with water, So it doesn't get affected by ripples, pH, scale and sludge formation. This kit can be installed irrespective of any shape and size of the tank.

India's Sustainable Development
Wastage of any one of the natural resource will affect the country's sustainable development drastically. This idea and kit will definitely reduce the wastage and unnecessary usage of water by a huge amount. The present technology uses two different sensors to do both the action. This kit will do both the action with the implementation of single sensor. The cost of the total kit is 30-40% than present kit. The sensor ensures high reliability as it is not in physical contact with water, So it doesn't get affected by ripples, pH, scale and sludge formation. This kit can be installed irrespective of any shape and size of the tank.
